A Few Sweet Snips
There were no tears at Great Clips on Tuesday, but I was probably too conservative with this first cut. I didn't want to lose the ability to give her her signature top ponytail, and I wasn't sure about giving her the bangs look again, so we didn't go very short. Actually, a woman on our way out commented, "Oh, how cute, she's going to get a haircut." This was, of course, after Hannah pulled out her little yellow barrette and her bangs fell promptly into her face. Next time maybe Mommy will give it a whirl!

Daddy's Girl
D-A-D-D-Y loves C-O-F-F-E-E...
Watch the video above to hear our favorite kids' song, then watch the one below to find out if H-A-N-N-A-H loves C-O-F-F-E-E, too!
NOTE to family, friends, and other child advocates: No children were harmed in the filming of this video. Truth be told, the caffeine-loving parents are actually giving their sweet, impressionable child sips of water, knowing it'll look like she's enjoying a cup of joe almost as much as they do (tee-hee!). Did our trick work?

She Kicked; She Scored!
Jaycie played really hard in her soccer game last night, and the whole team worked very well together, also. The coolest part of the game was when our new little soccer player scored her first goal of the season. She's been awesome at playing defense, and her offense has been steadily improving. She almost made another goal at the end of the game, but veered a little too much to one side and missed, but she was still happy about her performance, and we were, too.
Go, Jaycie!

Baby Jack Is Here!
THURSDAY: Hannah and I snuck into Labor & Delivery to visit Melissa and Eric this morning and chatted for awhile, while Melissa's magic medicine continued to get her ready for full-fledged labor. It was so sweet to hear the baby's heartbeat and the funny sloshing sounds he made by moving around. The contractions weren't yet miserable, but they were visible on the monitor and somewhat uncomfortable for Nurse Mommy. There's lots more action to come this afternoon, and Jack Cooper's daddy will have to take a break from entertaining his lovely wife (I think he's offering dancing lessons soon) so he can coach J.C.G. into the world - with lots of help from the mommy, of course! Today's the day!
FRIDAY Update: Melissa, Eric, and Madison welcomed Jack into the world last night just before 8:00 p.m. He weighed 8 lb. 2 oz. and was 20.5 inches long. Woo-hoo! Can't wait to see that cutie patootie!

Mother's Day Picnic
We enjoyed a beautiful day with Lee's family in Nashville at a wonderful picnic Sunday afternoon. The weather was absolutely perfect and the company was even better. The adults enjoyed visiting and watching the kiddos, Jaycie and the boys enjoyed the park and the nearby creek (despite Jaycie's muddy slip on a rock), and Hannah enjoyed all the steps, mulch, and rocks (yum, tasty). This day was particularly special, as it was our first with Hannah Li. Mommy was too busy taking pictures to get a good one with both girls, but the the one we got at the end of the day reflects much happiness (albeit a little bit of tiredness).

Ain't She Cute?
I love this photo of Hannah. She's wearing one of her new cutie-pie outfits from some of our Nashville friends, and she's getting up from sitting in her rocking chair (she loves to rock!), the same one her Nannie had when she was little. This wide-eyed look says, "Look at me; I'm such a big girl." And such a loved one, too. Thank you, God, for this sweet little blessing. And thank you for all the steps that got her here.
